Today, we wanted to share the Top 10 things we love about Fall.
10. Dark Colors/Jewel Tones
While bright colors and pastels are fun for spring and summer, deeper colors and jewel tones set the perfect mood for fall. Rich purples, maroons, and greens call our name this time of year!
Velvet is huge this fall in a variety of ways: clothing, bags, shoes – you can find multiple velvet options just about anywhere. It's a fun way to add texture to your look.
By this time of year, we are sick of sandals and ready for something new. Boots instantly change your look while keeping your tootsies warm! Anyone else a huge sucker for fun patterned socks?
Marshmallows, chocolate bars, and graham crackers are delicious on their own, but smoosh them together ... HEAVEN. Even better when you can sit around a fire pit in the backyard with friends and family to enjoy them.
Costumes, movies, and candy – what's not to love about Halloween?! This year, we're dressing as Burt Macklin and Janet Snakehole (Andy and April's alter-egos from Parks and Recreation). Even if that means we sit at home in our costumes, watch Hocus Pocus, and eat candy corn.
Frank Sinatra once said, "Orange is the happiest color," and I couldn't agree more. Something about seeing a field full of orange is just beautiful! But we're not satisfied with only the classic jack-o-lanterns, we love all of the misshapen, lumpy, bumpy, different colored ones too!
4. Candy Corn
One of the most controversial fall foods, but one of my absolute favorites! I'll take any excuse to grab a few (okay, a lot) of these little triangles.
There's something so special about fall football games. The first few are usually hot and miserable, but when the air gets cool, something about the buzz on campus is that much more electric! Team colors + lucky nail polish & lipstick = recipe for victory!
Scarves are not only functional to keep you warm in cooler weather, but also the perfect way to add some pizzazz to an otherwise plan outfit. For work, we love to pair an all-black ensemble with a punch of pattern or color in a scarf. For the weekend, a fun plaid is just the extra oomph needed for jeans, a white top, and an olive jacket.
For those of us who never quite achieve the "Summer Bod," fall is the great transition where it's cute to cover up. Layering not only gives us infinitely more outfit combinations but is also a little more forgiving with the extra Frito chili pie we may or may not consume this season.
Happy Fall, y'all!
