Happy First Day of Summer!
We have some big plans for our summer, and have organized them into a bucket list:
Brunch on a patio
What better way to enjoy a late morning breakfast than to do so outside? The addition of a mimosa is a must as well. We're thinking of making the trip down to Neighborhood Jam in Edmond for some of our favorite pancakes. I am typically more of a waffle person, but the Simple Jacks are just perfect!
Go Berry Picking
Summer in the Cramer household means blackberry season. Blackberries are my husband's favorite, so we visit either N40 farms here in Stillwater, OK or venture up to Owasso, OK to the Owasso Tree Farm to pick berries. We used up the last bit of our 2017 haul making blackberry cheesecake bars for Father's Day.
I had to add this item to our Summer Bucket List because I have never been to a drive-in movie before (gasp!). While we do not have a local drive-in, there are two options within an hours' drive. Ocean's 8, Incredibles 2, or the new Jurassic World all look promising.
Day at the Pool
There's nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day than a dip in the pool! Shout-out to family members who live in neighborhoods with pools! Summer in Oklahoma can be miserable.
Read a New Book
Spending time traveling and on then relaxing on the beach calls for a new book! Any new book suggestions are welcomed.
Make Ice Cream
Having the ice cream attachment to our Kitchen Aid mixer has been a game changer. nothing is more delicious than homemade ice cream. Our favorite to make is cookies and cream, with extra Oreos, of course!
Spending time in the backyard with family is one of our favorite things to do in the summer. We especially like visiting our local butcher, 1907 Meat Co. for the best burgers, steaks, and brats. They have options to please the entire family.
Celebrating the 4th of July by watching fireworks is always fun: sparklers, Roman candles, and bottle rockets, oh my! My favorites are the big ones that have a waterfall and a second crackle.
What is your favorite part of Summer?
